Take folk, punk, world beat, and jazz, and throw in a political conscience, and you get Ember Swift and the band. Ember performed at Canal St. Tavern with Lyndell Montgomery (electric violin, bass and bowed guitar) and a drummer whose name escapes me (a "rotating harem of drummers" is credited on emberswift.com).
