Thanks to some VIP access (thanks again JB), these are some of my best race pictures. The ALMS really knows how to put on a good event. And the weekend double headers with Indycar are a real bargain. I highly recommend you catch one if you are a road racing fan. The Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix was promoted by Roger Penske, so you know it was done with an eye on the details and run professionally. Penske reportedly invested millions in this event, including extensive refurbishment of the Belle Isle park. Detroit held up it's end of the deal by supplying a large and enthusiastic group of volunteers and a good race crowd. The festival surrounding the event was impressive, and bodes well for a successful repeat event in 2008.
