Logistics and Links |
Here are some links to help with planning a trip to the Inside Passage
First and foremost, Northern Lights Expeditions. They put on a great trip. Very organized, very safe, very fun. Great guides. I can't say enough nice things about them. Check them out at www.seakayaking.com
The Haida-Way Motor Inn. Nice and clean, with a good bar, restuarant, and a liquor store. www.portmcneillhotels.com/
Tom Sewid, cultural guide, water taxi captain. Tom is a Kwakwakawakw indian, and the grandson of a chief of the tribe. He is currently the only resident of Village Island, a former indian village. He was our water taxi captain on the way to our first camp site. He told us some interesting facts about the area and native culture, and he has a great eye for spoting wildlife, which is how we got to see the humpback whales on our way out..
No web site here, but Rainbow Taxi is the service we used to go from the airport in Port Hardy to Port McNeill. (250)956-4432
We flew Pacific Coastal Air from Vancouver to Port Hardy.
And the British Columbia Ferry system home page is at www.bcferries.com
